Course Delivery Methods
NSTA understands that every student learns differently. Our training delivery is structured, supportive, and flexible enough to assist students from different backgrounds, industries, and learning needs.
Face-to-Face Training
Face-to-face training provides classroom-based learning with a qualified and experienced trainer in a practical learning environment. This delivery method allows students to ask questions, participate in activities, and receive direct trainer support during their learning journey.
Flexible Delivery
Flexible Delivery offers a blended learning approach through an online training platform, allowing students to study in their own time and attend when ready for assessment. This option helps reduce contact hours while still supporting quality training and assessment outcomes.
Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer
NSTA offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) across the qualifications we deliver. These options may help students receive recognition for previous study, work experience, or existing skills where applicable.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment process that recognises skills and knowledge gained through previous formal training, work experience, or life experience. If you are already performing tasks related to your chosen qualification, you may already have some of the required skills and knowledge.
Credit Transfer (CT)
Credit Transfer recognises formal qualifications or units of competency that are equivalent to those included within your current course. Students may be asked to provide evidence such as certificates, Statements of Attainment, transcripts, or other relevant documents.
Is there an additional cost for RPL or Credit Transfer?
There are no additional charges for credit applications, whether through RPL or CT. Students can discuss available options during enrolment and provide supporting evidence such as previous qualifications, references, resumes, or job descriptions. Your assessor will then help document the application process and identify where credit may be granted.

What Makes NSTA Training Different?
At NSTA, training is designed to be practical, structured, and relevant to industry expectations. We understand that students are not just enrolling to gain a certificate. They are investing in their future, their career opportunities, and their confidence in the workplace. That is why our training approach focuses on recognised learning outcomes, quality delivery, clear assessment expectations, and meaningful skills that can be applied beyond the classroom.
Is NSTA a Nationally Recognised Training Organisation?
Yes. NSTA Pty Ltd RTO 32292 is a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation. This means our training and assessment is delivered in accordance with nationally recognised standards, and eligible students receive recognised qualifications or Statements of Attainment aligned with the requirements of the relevant course or unit of competency.
How Are NSTA Courses Delivered?
NSTA offers course delivery methods designed to support different learning needs, course requirements, and industry outcomes. Depending on the training program, delivery may include face-to-face learning, practical workshops, classroom-based instruction, blended learning, workplace-relevant activities, and trainer-led assessment support. Some courses require a stronger practical focus due to compliance or licensing outcomes, while others may include a combination of theory and applied learning.
What Is NSTA’s Learning Approach?
NSTA’s learning approach is built around clarity, structure, support, and practical relevance. We aim to create a learning environment where students understand what is expected, why the training matters, and how the course connects to real workplace situations. Our trainers support students through guided learning, practical exercises, discussion, demonstration, and assessment preparation so that training feels purposeful and achievable.
Does NSTA Focus on Practical Skills?
Yes. Practical capability is a major part of the NSTA training philosophy. In industries where safety, compliance, communication, and sound judgement matter, students need more than theory alone. NSTA courses are designed to help students develop practical understanding, confidence, and applied workplace skills so that training outcomes are meaningful and relevant once they enter or return to the workforce.
Who Delivers the Training at NSTA?
Training at NSTA is delivered by qualified trainers and assessors who understand the importance of combining compliance with real-world relevance. Our team is focused on supporting students through quality instruction, clear communication, and practical industry understanding. The goal is to ensure students are not only assessed fairly, but are genuinely prepared for the standards expected in their chosen field.
What Support Do Students Receive?
NSTA is committed to supporting students throughout their training journey. Support may include trainer guidance, structured learning resources, clarification of assessment expectations, practical instruction, and help in understanding course requirements. We recognise that students come from different backgrounds and may have different levels of experience, so our delivery model aims to make learning more accessible, supportive, and outcome-focused.
Does NSTA Offer Recognition of Prior Learning?
Yes. Where applicable, NSTA may offer Recognition of Prior Learning, also known as RPL. RPL provides eligible students with the opportunity to have existing skills, knowledge, and industry experience assessed against the requirements of a qualification or unit of competency. This process is designed to recognise genuine prior capability and reduce unnecessary repetition where competency can already be demonstrated.
Does NSTA Accept Credit Transfer?
Yes. NSTA may offer Credit Transfer where a student has previously completed nationally recognised units that are equivalent to those in the course they are enrolling in. Credit Transfer allows formally completed units to be recognised without the student needing to repeat the same learning and assessment, provided the evidence meets the required criteria.
Why Are Compliance and Quality Important in NSTA Courses?
Many of the industries NSTA works within are governed by safety obligations, compliance standards, workplace procedures, and licensing expectations. Because of this, training must be delivered with care, consistency, and integrity. NSTA places strong emphasis on compliant delivery, quality assessment, and nationally recognised outcomes so that students, employers, and industry stakeholders can have confidence in the training provided.
How Does NSTA Help Students Prepare for Employment?
NSTA courses are designed to support more than course completion. They are intended to help students build capability, confidence, and clearer career direction. By focusing on practical outcomes, communication, workplace expectations, and recognised competencies, NSTA helps students strengthen their readiness for employment, further training, and long-term development within their chosen industry.
How Does NSTA Align Training with Industry Expectations?
NSTA understands that strong training outcomes must connect to real workplace expectations. That is why our course areas are structured to support practical relevance, compliance awareness, sound decision-making, and industry-focused capability. We aim to deliver training that reflects not just course requirements, but the operational realities students are likely to face in the workplace.

NSTA delivers training through a growing network of locations across Australia. Depending on the course area and operational delivery model, training may be available through NSTA campuses, partner locations, and region-specific training centres.
