Course Overview
This course is designed for individuals seeking entry into the security industry, including roles in guarding, crowd control, access control, venue security, event security and general security operations.
Security officers may work alone or in a team environment under general supervision. They operate with limited autonomy and judgement to complete routine but variable tasks, with accountability for their own work, learning and workplace conduct.
The qualification may also provide a pathway to further learning and work in security areas such as armed guarding, cash-in-transit, close protection, control room operations and guard dog handling.
